2015 Workshop on Active Learning in Optics and Photonics

Indonesia is taking part in celebrating the International Year of Light 2015 with UNESCO, by organizing the Active Learning in Optics and Photonics (ALOP) workshop, which will be held in National Nuclear Energy Agency (BATAN) located in The Research Center for Science and Technology (Puspiptek) Serpong, on 23-27 March 2015.
The ALOP workshop will be the first to be held in Indonesia. The venue (in outer Jakarta), namely in Puspiptek Serpong, has been chosen because it is conveniently located in Indonesia. BATAN has the appropriate facilities and infrastructure for hosting an ALOP workshop. We believe that education initiatives such as ALOP are very important in raising the skill level of academics and teachers from this region and in improving their teaching methods (to the level of world’s best practice).
We do believe that this ALOP will make a significant contribution to improving education delivery and teacher training in Indonesia.
