Dear Colleague
The Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics through the
ICTP/TWAS Donation Programme, in collaboration with the Scientific
Computer Section and the Library, is proud to announce a new programme:
eJournals Delivery Service.
This program consists in delivering single scientific articles upon
request. The program, or service, is meant to facilitate the access to
current scientific literature, to scientists in institutions in Third
World Countries which have low bandwith internet facilities that allow
them to download material in a timely manner and/or they cannot afford
them.
In agreement with some publishing companies, who have responded
enthusiastically to the request of the Centre, it will be possible to
retrieve articles from online journals, when a person has access to
e-mail. This will be done using a software developed at the Centre, called
www4mail. This software allows the user to follow hyperlinks as well as to
download web pages, using only electronic mail, as if they were surfing
the web via a live Internet connection.
The eJDS will start providing access to all online Journals of the
Academic Press, American Physical Society and World Scientific. Final
details are under discussion with Institute of Physics (IOP)Publishing,
which we expect to have ready quite soon. More information can be found
at: http://www.ictp.trieste.it/ejournals
Any interested scientist working in a developing country can apply,
filling the attached form, and sending it by FAX or POST to:

APPLICATIONS RECEIVED BY E-MAIL WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
The application will be analyzed by the ICTP/TWAS Donation
Programme, as well as the Publishers to insure that their conditions are
fulfilled. The applicants will be informed by e-mail of the outcome. If
accepted, appropriate instructions will be sent.
All information relevant to the eJournals Delivery Service is
available at http://www.ictp.trieste.it/ejournals
Yours sincerely
