  • PESAN DAN TANGGAPAN :

Sofja Kovalevskaja Programme for outstanding young scientists and scholars
    Oleh : AvH Indonesia
    Minggu, 21 Desember 2003 (12:19 WIB) dari IP 202.159.34.246

In 2004 the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation will grant the Sofja Kovalevskaja Award , which is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research to benefit young scientists and scholars from abroad with outstanding research records. The aim is to give award-winners an opportunity to concentrate on high-level, innovative research work of their own choice in Germany, virtually without administrative constraints, in order to promote the internationalization of research in Germany. The award is intended to enable its winners to finance their own work-groups at German university and non-university research institutions of their own choice and to cover their living expenses.

Recipients of the Sofja Kovalevskaja Award will be granted funding up to a total of EUR 1.2 million during the period of 2004 to 2007 to conduct research of their own choice.

    Sofja Kovalevskaja Programme - Application

Applicants should be no more than 35 years of age. They should have completed their doctorates with distinction and published work in prestigious international journals or publishing houses.

The programme is open to scientists and scholars from abroad of all disciplines. The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation particularly welcomes applications from young qualified female researchers.

Foreign researchers already present in Germany as a rule should not have been engaged in research in Germany for more than three years by the time they apply. German nationals may apply if they have been engaged in academic work abroad for at least five years at the time of application.

More detailed information on the documents to be provided for an application can be found in the Basic Facts of the Sofja Kovalevskaja Programme.

Completed applications must be received by March 15, 2004, at the latest.

An independent selection committee of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation decides on the selection of award-winners and the value of the award. It is conferred by the President of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation under the patronage of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
