Ph.D. Fellowships in Elementary Particle Physics, Munchen
    Oleh : Suharyo Sumowidagdo

Munich, Max Planck Inst. - Student
Ph.D. Fellowships in Elementary Particle Physics

The International Max Planck Research School (IMPRS) is a joint initiative of the Max Planck Institute of Physics (Werner Heisenberg Institute) and the particle and astroparticle physics groups of Ludwig Maximilian University and Technical University in Munich, Germany. The School offers excellent research opportunities to highly qualified doctoral students. Research fields covered by the School from both an experimental and a theoretical perspective are high energy particle physics, astroparticle physics, and cosmology.

Requirements for an IMPRS fellowship are an academic degree equivalent to a Diploma or a Master in Physics, and knowledge in the field of experimental or theoretical particle physics. The ability to work in a team is desired. Individual research work is supplemented by an accompanying lecture programme. Regular seminars, workshops, and other joint events serve to broaden the intellectual horizon, stimulate interaction between the IMPRS members, and provide valuable background knowledge on topics beyond the student's research project.

Ph.D. fellowships are available for students worldwide and will be awarded on a competitive basis. Applications will be accepted twice a year. The next deadline for applications is May 1st, 2005.

    Field of interest: astro-ph, hep-ph, hep-ex, hep-th
